Not only did they misdiagnose the problem with my boat but once they completed their so called repairs, the boat came back to me in worse condition (no reverse gear).
Somehow they managed to talk me into spending more money and after I picked up the boat the second time, the bill was higher than originally quoted. Although angry, I politely questioned the bill and was quickly shut down with a verbal barrage from the mechanic and girl at the front desk. Unbelievably, when I next took the boat for a run, the original problem still wasn't repaired!
So there I was $1000 worse off with a buggered boat and no answers. To the stores credit, the owner called me back after I complained, and promised to rectify the issue within a few weeks. He was very understanding, but unfortunately that's the last I ever heard from him. When I called for an update a few months later, the same front desk lady refused to put me through and treated me like a common criminal. I was driving at the time so the phone was on loudspeaker, my girlfriend in the car overheard the conversation and was literally gob smacked at her rudeness and complete unwillingness to help.
I finally managed to get my boat back to Mandurah Outboards so they could finish the job as promised by the owner. I was notified the job was now completed and there was a $691 bill waiting for me! When picking up the boat, the front counter lady yelled again in front of customers when I questioned this outrageous act. What can I say, they had me. They even threatened me for debating the bill and to quote her "I always win Andrew, I have your boat".
I took the boat out the following weekend and amazingly after $1750, they had fixed the initial problem (dirt in the carburettor) but caused yet another in the process. Now my warm up lever won't work. All I can say is that there is no way on Earth I would ever take my boat back to them so they can charge me again for a problem they created.
Save your money, time and sanity people, go somewhere else and tell your friends the same!
